Storyweavers is a collaborative storytelling game co-designed with Shula Ehrlich and resident teachers for the 7th grade English Language Arts class at New York City public school, Quest to Learn. Through game play, students practice their use of literary elements and writing skills, and by the end, have written a full story together. We’ve designed multiple modifications of storyweavers, to get students practicing specific genres of writing, such as Dystopa-weavers, in which students write a Dystopian fiction story, Hero-Weavers, or History Weavers, in which students write historical fiction. The game is played entirely in the iWorks application, Keynote.
